Dark InviZimals

Dark Invizimals are a new type of Invizimals introduced in Invizimals: Shadow Zone. All subsequent games in the series have added to the Dark Invizimal catalogue.

Purpose[]

Dark Invizimals are corrupted versions of pre-existing Invizimals that are much more powerful. Dark Invizimals have a base stat total of 10, tied with the Dragons for the highest default base stat total in the game. As a result, Dark Invizimals are widely considered to be among the most powerful Invizimals in the game.

The vast majority of Dark Invizimals are direct upgrades over their standard counterparts. However, some Dark Invizimals will get worse in some stats relative to their standard counterparts in order to get even better in certain stats.

Unlike standard Invizimals, Dark Invizimals can have more than three base points in a single stat, allowing them to have an exceedingly large base stat. However, a Dark Invizimal will almost never have a stat with five base points, in contrast to Dragons, where each Dragon will always have a stat with five base stat points. This makes the Dark Invizimals more well-rounded than Dragons on average, but less specialized in any given stat.

Acquisition[]

In Invizimals: Shadow Zone, Dark Invizimals are won through Dark tournaments after the main story is completed. The dark tournaments each require the completion of a puzzle in order to gain access to them. The Dark Invizimal is given to the player as the prize for winning the dark tournament. The Dark Invizimal is given with randomized stats at level 12.

In Invizimals: The Lost Tribes, Dark Invizimals are created instead of won. All Dark Invizimals are created from their light Invizimal counterparts through the Ritual of Transformation. This allows for far more statistical customization in the way(s) the player sees fit.

Role in Fusion[]

Dark Invizimals play an integral role to creating Fusion Invizimals. The Fusion's stats will take severe influence from the Dark Invizimal compared to the light Invizimal, although the light Invizimal's stats can play a role in Fusion creation.

Story[]

Dark Invizimals play a crucial aspect in the plots of Invizimals: Shadow Zone and Invizimals: The Lost Tribes.

Invizimals: Shadow Zone[]

The first Dark Invizimal appears while Kenichi is exploring the surrounding area of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Kenichi notes that it will not obey his commands and is causing various technical issues to his PSP. He has the player fight the Dark Rattleraptor in a battle to see its combat abilities. During combat, the Dark Invizimal uses an unusual Vector power that had never been seen before, despite Kenichi not having brought any Vector of that sort into battle. After the battle concludes, Kenichi determines that it'd be best to send the Dark Invizimal to Professor Dawson to conduct further testing.

Dawson receives the Dark Invizimal, and it attacks him, biting his finger. Dawson conducts tests on it, and determines that it consists of "dark light", the same material seen in black holes. Dawson states that this dark light is very dangerous and could damage PSP systems.

When Dawson is exploring Native American forests, he is becoming increasingly delirious and paranoid. He learns that the locals in the area found another Dark Invizimal, and have put it up as the main prize for winning a tournament. Dawson has the player enter and win the tournament to claim the prize, in an effort to conduct further research. Upon getting the second Dark Invizimal in his collection, Dawson is seen delving into insanity, being corrupted by the influence of two Dark Invizimals.

While Kenichi is struggling to access the Egyptian Pyramid that houses Campbell's secret base, Dawson calls Kenichi to warn him of the Dark Invizimals. Kenichi observes Dawson's poor health and deduces that the Dark Invizimals are having a bad influence on him. Three separate items that are often used in ritual ceremonies went missing from a nearby Egyptian village, as the influence of the dark Invizimals brought them to life and turned them into Invizimals. Upon retrieving the lost Invizimals and entering the secret base, the player is attacked by two guardians placed in the base. The player defeats the Dark Invizimals and destroys them.

After reaching Campbell's location where he plans to open the gate, the Dark Invizimals corrupt Dawson once again, and under Campbell's influence, he attacks Kenichi, only to have the player fight Dawson instead. The player defeats Dawson and destroys his Dark Flameclaw.

After defeating Dawson and breaking him out of his trance, the player fights Campbell, who fights with a Dark Bratbat. The player wins and destroys Campbell's Dark Bratbat.

Although the player defeated Campbell in battle, Campbell had stalled long enough to give time for the shadow gate to open, and out emerged the presumptive leader of the Dark Invizimals. Campbell begged the Invizimal to join his cause, but the Dark Invizimal refused, and dragged Campbell through the Shadow Gate. After this, the Dark Invizimal calmly stood before Kenichi and requested that he enter the Shadow Gate, which Kenichi proceeded to do.

Invizimals: The Lost Tribes[]

In The Lost Tribes, Dark Invizimals are not a factor in the story until the player enters The Wave. Campbell imprisons the player and informs them that he has devised methods to create Dark Invizimals himself through Rituals of Transformation, allowing him to create his own personal army. Campbell has armed his followers with Dark Invizimals, and has the player create Dark Invizimals for his army.

After being freed of Campbell's clutches, the player finds Kenichi in Bhutanese mountains, where the player is tasked with combining the forces of light and dark to stand up to Campbell. The player uses the combined forces of light and dark to defeat Campbell once and for all.
